Global Labor Standards

We believe in fair labor practices, and strive to assure that workers employed by the independently owned manufacturers who make Tommy Hilfiger products are treated with dignity and respect. This commitment means maintaining programs which seek to ensure appropriate working conditions and procedures in factories that produce Tommy Hilfiger clothing.

As a company, we are designers and marketers, and our expertise lies in the design, merchandising, marketing and selling of our products. As such, and like many global companies, we do not manufacture our products ourselves. We do not own or operate any garment factories, but rather we contract with hundreds of independent factories throughout the world to produce our goods. These factories are located in more than 45 countries worldwide.

The cornerstone of our programs is our Code of Conduct. Formalized in 1997 and printed in 35 languages, the Code of Conduct incorporates internationally recognized labor standards, and outlines Tommy Hilfiger's expectations concerning the conditions under which its products should be made.

Compliance with our Code of Conduct is assessed through a worldwide monitoring program . Since 1997, this program has included inspections in hundreds of factories in over 45 countries conducted by auditors working for third-party audit firms.

We will continue to strive to have our Code of Conduct respected, and to have our products made under fair labor conditions.
