About The Foundation

History

Tommy Hilfiger U.S.A., Inc. established the Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation in December 1995 to help empower America's youth. Consistent with this vision, the Foundation's Philanthropy and Education initiatives focuses the majority of our resources on developing and supporting programs/partnerships that promote educational opportunities for diverse populations in the USA.

Mission Statement

The Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation, Inc. believes education is the cornerstone for today's youth. For America to remain competitive in the global marketplace, we believe a stronger emphasis should be placed on exposing youth to experiences in education and career-related opportunities. By focusing on preparing students for the demands of today's global society, our goal is to be a major force in improving education.

We believe that the physical well being of today's youth is at the heart of building a healthy and civil society. Therefore, the Foundation is committed to investing in health-related organizations and cultural programs that impact a diverse population of youth.

Grant Making Priorities

An important part of the Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation's operating philosophy is commitment to community, particularly in the area of education.

Proposals submitted to the Foundation for review for educational and cultural programs must address the priorities listed below:

  • Target K-12 and college students
  • Expose students to career opportunities
  • Develop skills in new technologies
  • Leverage teacher/administrator, parental, and community involvement
  • Include hands-on program activities
  • Lead to comprehensive, systemic change on a regional and/or national basis
  • Involve collaborative partnerships
  • Demonstrate capacity to gain continuing support
  • Will result in dissemination and replication of lessons learned
  • Have broad and positive impact on diverse populations with a special emphasis on women, minorities, and at-risk students
  • Develop evaluation component with measurable results

Proposals submitted to the Foundation for reviews that are health-related should be centered on the following:

  • Medical centers/hospitals
  • Health education
  • Innovative therapy programs
