New York, NY (September 28, 2007) - Tommy Hilfiger U.S.A., Inc. announced today the opening of its first women's only Tommy Hilfiger anchor store located at 375 Bleecker Street (between Perry and Charles streets) in New York City. The opening marks the Company's third freestanding Tommy Hilfiger retail space in the United States.
"I am thrilled to open a store on Bleecker Street, in New York. It is a jewel box of a store on a street where people understand and appreciate fashion. It is a laboratory for our new women's product and allows us to live in the heart of creativity," said Tommy Hilfiger.
Inspired by the Tommy Hilfiger Fall 07 Collection 'Pop Elegance,' the 824 square foot freestanding store will feature women's pieces from the Tommy Hilfiger Collection as well as the best of Tommy Hilfiger Sportswear, footwear and handbags. The Anchor store also features high-end vintage clothing from some of fashion's most prominent designers. A special collection of vintage charm bracelets, Bakelite bangels and other vintage accessories will also be sold. The store will open with Fall 2007 product in three color stories: camel, navy as well as black and grey with pops of color.
The Bleecker store interior features an eclectic mix of modern design, vintage furnishings and found objects with a color palate of regimental blue with bright yellow accents. A pair of chandeliers hand picked from a Connecticut estate are anchored by black macramé rope, while colonial, mid-century inspired brass fixtures are affixed to the walls with brass chains. Found American furniture from golden-era department stores are paired with a custom wood table with wishbone aged brass legs and butterfly facets. Vintage posters, black lacquered mannequins, and bright yellow plantation shutters are some of the details that capture a "vintage meets modern American" design concept.
The Bleecker Street store also has quite a treasure in its backyard, with a 449 square foot Boxwood garden complete with custom lattice-work trellis, iron gates, stone benches designed by Philadelphia-based artist Jonathan Schorr, and even tombstones from the early 20th century. This area offers an ideal location for customer-focused events such as champagne and manicure service to enhance the shopping experience.
Current freestanding stores include London, New York, Paris, Milan, Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Barcelona, Stockholm, Vienna, Hong Kong, Buenos Aires, St. Tropez, Istanbul, Antwerp, Munich, Athens, and Madrid, among others.
